Dear Ladies – Use Your Brains While Getting Interviewed For A Job

It is a known fact that an interviewer decides whether to hire a candidate or not within 10 minutes. I am sure it’s pretty amazing as well as scary for most of the readers. One should be extra cautious while getting interviewed. After all, it’s about casting a spell. Isn’t it?

“Casting a spell” is mostly understood in a wrong way, especially by many women across the globe. It is important to understand that what should be embraced during an interview and what should be detached away. Following are some pointers which will help women bagging jobs rights away!

Dream Job – Does It Actually Exist?

It has been noticed that majority of women usually try to impress their interviewers by bragging statements like “Wow! This is an ideal job for me.” Or “I always dreamed about this kind of job.” To be honest, no job can be a dream or ideal job because of the fact that there are many unpleasant things that a person has to perform for a job. 69% of the interviewers don’t appreciate this kind of replies.

Never Smack-off Your Ex-Boss:

Defaming your ex-company or superiors won’t help. In fact, it will definitely harm your personality and you won’t be able to impress your interviewer.

You Know You Are Hot – Don’t Flaunt It, Where it’s not needed

It is a myth that women with out-going approach and bold behavior are appreciated in professional world, in third world countries. One should know that dressing up for going on a date is totally different from going to an interview. Genuine interviewer is more concerned about your skills and talent rather than your looks and oozing hotness.

Salary Is Not Everything – That Should Be In Your Mind

Discussing salary is not a good idea. Interviewers don’t appreciate the question related to salary at first place. Only 15% of the interviewers have agreed to the fact that it’s better to discuss remuneration in first meeting. Rest of them simply doesn’t want to discuss anything like that. So, if you are not asked about the salary, don’t initiate it from our end.

Keep It Cool

Everyone has emotions but every time is not the right time to express emotions. This is key statement to understand that when you are attending an interview it is not advised to show your emotional side. It’s all about controlling, relaxing and coming up with a calculated idea or response.

Jeans! Are You Serious?

All those girls, who like to be casual and on them jeans look really cool and sexy, they should know the fact that “dress code” is very important. When going for an interview it is advised to wear something decent, formal and smart as well. No one wants to hire a casual candidate. It’s a serious job at which you applied right?

Getting Connected Is Important But Getting A Chance Is Vital:

We all know cell phones are status symbol nowadays, plus replying to every call and text message is what we usually love to do but when on interview, it’s not a right time to either answer any call or reply to any SMS. It is advised that you should switch of or at-least put your cell phone on silent. Even putting a phone on vibration is not a good idea as its humming sound can also cause distraction.

You Can Make Your Boyfriend Wait For You For A Lifetime But Not Your Boss

Arriving late for interviews is not good. This is the reason why every HR employee is of the view that a candidate should reach 10 – 15 minutes earlier. It gives a positive impression. It makes a candidate show his seriousness and punctuality, which count in professional environment. Always remember “time is money – don’t waste it” whether this time is yours or your boss’s.

I hope, if these points will be taken into consideration, your chances of getting hired will improve. Share your opinions as well.

Text Messaging - SMSes (The New Mantra) Part I

Short messaging service that is what an SMS stands for. Trust me, there are more than many full forms which can be extracted from this acronym and they all will live up to the full form. These days everyone is holding a cell phone in his/her hands. This is the reason why there are close to numerous cell phone packages that have been introduced in the market. To me it looks as if people are more interested in packages and cell phones than talking or expressing their feelings to their loved ones. Anyways, getting back to the main topic i.e. SMS and its arrival on not so perfect time, allow me to introduce you with some of the scenarios which you must have experienced in your life:

Sikh Message Supplies:
We are prone to jokes that are sent over cell phones. Most of the jokes are based on Sikhs and Punjabis. Rest of the front is served by Memons, as they are the only ones who can tolerate jokes on them. Consider yourself belonging to same cultural background and receiving such messages on daily, in fact hourly, basis. What will you feel? Just like every cloud has a silver lining, every person has a limitation lining. Having a cell phone loaded with some “cool” packages does not mean that such messages should be shared, every now and then.

Sexual Metaphoric Stuff
Whether its university life or professional life every one of us have come across some really dirty minds. After all, as said by a philosopher “the cornier the joke, the harder they laugh”. Many people are in habit of sharing wicked, sultry and sickly disgusting jokes. Let me accept that they do bring smile to my face, but there is nothing to “LOL” about. But again, repetition of same jokes is nothing but wastage of time. It is better to get serious in life and here seriousness does not mean saying a “NO TO SMILE” and a few laughs but quality of fun should be uplifted.

Sentimental Menace Senders
Do you have friends who don’t care to talk to you and they don’t even visit you when you need them the most? Of course, we all have such kind of breeds in our friend’s list. Just imagine them sending you sentimental and emotional text messages about love, friendship and relationship. To me it sounds totally B/S. Anyways, these so called “friends” text you and at the end of the messages it’s mentioned that “Send this message to 5 friends of yours and revert it to me as well”. I just don’t get it, if at first place they wanted to have it (the message) in their inbox then why do they move them to outbox? Emotional blackmailing is the best kind making anyone say whatever you want them to. You Guys Need A Break!

Am sure there can be more than many extensions and full forms of SMS (driven by one’s mind on the basis of their experiences). For those more, stay tuned!

Share your experiences and incidents that made you uneasy because of receiving weird SMSes.

Stop blaming it on Government – Get on your own feet

These days everyone is literally barking against this government. And when I mention “Barking” it literally means “BARKING”. If you want to check this up, just roll the topic in any class, buss, market, party or TV program. You will understand what I actually mean.

Why is it always government that is held responsible for all the vexation?  After all we, Pakistanis, always unite whenever there is disaster faced by any city – PAF museum in Karachi is usually stuffed with campaigns and all such welfare based programs. Then why can’t we stand in our own territory? We can manage and raise funds for affected cities and get them every blessing of the world but we can not help our own conditions. Electricity, water supply, petrol and gas are main issues of a common man as well as for individuals who belong to elite classes. This is the reason why everyone is keeping his eyes on other’s wallet irrespective of how well or exceptional is he earning. For some it is because of nature (agreed) but for rest it is because of the conditions that are letting them follow this practice.

Are You Diagnosed as “English Phobic”? Here is the Treatment

Apart from my profession, I have been associated with teaching and content writing since 2006. With the passage of time I have come across different kinds of individuals belonging to varied ethnic backgrounds along with different educational trainings. When I was Growing Up, (I know Growing Old is a new-age alternative for this term), we used to have 3 kinds of schooling systems including Matriculations, O/A Levels and Cambridge system. All three had their own pros and cons. Teachers were focused back then, they used to be specific and very particular about the language and the terms used by us (students). Back in those days studying in O/A Levels or in Cambridge system used to be a status symbol (believe it or not – it’s a fact). Today I see majority of people living in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore (the Metro Cities) is sending their kids to either Cambridge Based Schools or O/A level schools. This is really good – but have you ever thought about the language they are using? Have you ever listened them conversing with seniors, juniors and individuals from their own age group? Well! I did, as I come across with more than many such students and professionals as well.

The new age students use almost same linguistics with every one, they treat everyone with same yardstick. There is a difference in speaking, with people from different age brackets and different backgrounds. I don’t know if you might agree with me or not. But I was taught to use politeness and decency while talking to seniors and juniors (and we still use calculated and definite words in front of them). We were allowed to get friendly with guys and girls of our age group. Whereas today this is “kind of” alien approach I suppose. The idea was to show and pay regard to others. These days we see every Tom, Dick and Harry speaking English language in great accent – this is the reason why most of the people are taken back when the other starts to speak. Trust me, nowadays it is only accent on which students and teachers emphasize. If you get your nerves under controlled, try to listen to the language that they use mostly, the grammar is terribly misused in most of the cases. I know American Culture is overshadowing ours as well, but all those who consider America as benchmarking tool, get some brains’ utilization. America is a country full of nation without culture and heritage.

There are also those people, who might not be able to speak English fluently and at a faster pace, but they have great grammar sense, they know how to write, what to write and which tone to use. So all those individuals out there who easily get impressed or at times stressed by the individuals with amazing Aussie or American accent based language, try to listen to them properly and reply back them with a well-knitted answer. Try to keep yourself calm, if you think you will be a bit late in replying as compared to their speed – don’t worry, if they will cut you off, they are not worthy of being communicated with. No one in the world has the right to point a finger on you on the basis of language. Your confidence is your discriminative point. Don’t lose it! English is just a language not a life-saving drug.

P.S. I have talked here about the majority – exceptions are always there, after all Pakistan has great talent and potential and I truly support this statement. All we need are right mentors and comparatively better paths to prove the same to world. Do not get personal as this (article) is an outcome of personal experiences, observations and incidents.

Stay blessed and be happy!

Bathroom Beauties - A facebook Ideology

“Heya Facebook freaks!” I am sure there must be millions who would reply to my “Hi” not because they know me or like me, but for the sake of keeping themselves in the FACEBOOK FRATERNITY. Lately I observed few things which I mostly used to see almost every day or every alternate day. It is nothing unusual (for many) but really UN-USUAL (for some). Have you ever thought why women mostly rush to washrooms when meeting their fiends, families and the special ones {yup “retards” for their (girl’s) charms – The spelled guys)}. NO! I don’t want you to think on those personal concerns. These days every woman or allow me to say girls, as few might mind me calling them women, have cameras or at least a nicer phones preferably iPhone in their bags. This helps them a lot to look good, fresh and more over click pictures – after all where else will they get the privacy to do few crazy stunts, without other noticing them in awe. Apart from all the motives, from where they get their new and much liked Display Pictures to upload at Facebook?

The funniest part is, after uploading those pictures, their friends ask them from where they got the picture, most of the comments are like “the backdrop is just so amazing” – it is not over yet! Punch line is – after getting to know the location of the luxurious toilet, most try to visit there and get their shots as well. Guys this is not a joke, trust me there are many fanatics doing such things, just because they can show their pictures to their friends by standing in the washroom in front of large mirrors. The disease has now shifted from ONE PERSON SHOT to TWOSOMES, THREESOMES and even GANG of Power Puffed Ones clicking numerous shots. Be it wedding, party, coffee shop, restaurant or any other place where they can find a lavish wash-room, they can’t just keep their hands off their cameras.

Is it something like Girls Only Look Great In Washroom? Not even On their Big Day?

For all those girls who usually comment in utter superiority that they have “high Standards” it is a wakeup call – Girls with high standards never indulge themselves in something like that! Give it a thought!

I completely don’t have anything against girls or their pictures, but I know one thing, if the same thing is done by a guy he will instantly become CHEAP and WEIRDO in the eyes of those girls.

Be blessed!

Keep smiling – and doing things by which other can smile as well.

Breast Cancer Support – Keep the Spirits High

I just wonder; is it really difficult to take out sometime from our busy schedules and try to listen to people who do not have any one to talk to?

Well I am writing this because a dear friend of mine wanted me to wear “Pink colored Tie” to support “Breast Cancer Day” – I simply admire her for drawing my attention towards this point. Thanks Barbie!

I then went through different web-sites on Breast Cancer – but I found this Particular One really helpful. I have a suggestion for many young guys and girls like me, to spend few minutes a week with someone who is suffering from this severe illness or even any other illness. It will have many positive after effects on you, for instance;

Ø  You will definitely realize how blessed you are – to be healthy and fit.
Ø  You will get the inner satisfaction that someone is really there, who waits for your visit every week/month on any particular day. This is an amazing feeling (try it out to experience it)
Ø  The happiness which you will cause to the person can only be seen in the teary eyes (tears of happiness) but can never be expressed in words by him or her.
Ø  The contentment level will be high. Why? You will be aware of one thing that you are making a difference in someone’s life, by brightening up his or her day.

It is definitely not difficult. All that is required is courage to say “Hello How are you feeling today?” and then the conversation will take its own pace.

Wearing pink ribbon is definitely good – but spending a few minutes with a patient will be better. This habit will definitely make you realize numerous things which you might have never thought about.

You might come across a Top-Notch Banker Excelling in her field, four years ago, but now if you will meet her you can sense the difference in her life – Don’t let this DIFFERENCE spread more.

I am not sure whether I have fully conveyed my message / feeling or not! But all I know is that! My friends and readers are far sensitive and intelligent than me.

Bless you all!!

Keep Smiling and try to be the reason of other’s smiles.
