Dear Ladies – Use Your Brains While Getting Interviewed For A Job

It is a known fact that an interviewer decides whether to hire a candidate or not within 10 minutes. I am sure it’s pretty amazing as well as scary for most of the readers. One should be extra cautious while getting interviewed. After all, it’s about casting a spell. Isn’t it?

“Casting a spell” is mostly understood in a wrong way, especially by many women across the globe. It is important to understand that what should be embraced during an interview and what should be detached away. Following are some pointers which will help women bagging jobs rights away!

Dream Job – Does It Actually Exist?

It has been noticed that majority of women usually try to impress their interviewers by bragging statements like “Wow! This is an ideal job for me.” Or “I always dreamed about this kind of job.” To be honest, no job can be a dream or ideal job because of the fact that there are many unpleasant things that a person has to perform for a job. 69% of the interviewers don’t appreciate this kind of replies.

Never Smack-off Your Ex-Boss:

Defaming your ex-company or superiors won’t help. In fact, it will definitely harm your personality and you won’t be able to impress your interviewer.

You Know You Are Hot – Don’t Flaunt It, Where it’s not needed

It is a myth that women with out-going approach and bold behavior are appreciated in professional world, in third world countries. One should know that dressing up for going on a date is totally different from going to an interview. Genuine interviewer is more concerned about your skills and talent rather than your looks and oozing hotness.

Salary Is Not Everything – That Should Be In Your Mind

Discussing salary is not a good idea. Interviewers don’t appreciate the question related to salary at first place. Only 15% of the interviewers have agreed to the fact that it’s better to discuss remuneration in first meeting. Rest of them simply doesn’t want to discuss anything like that. So, if you are not asked about the salary, don’t initiate it from our end.

Keep It Cool

Everyone has emotions but every time is not the right time to express emotions. This is key statement to understand that when you are attending an interview it is not advised to show your emotional side. It’s all about controlling, relaxing and coming up with a calculated idea or response.

Jeans! Are You Serious?

All those girls, who like to be casual and on them jeans look really cool and sexy, they should know the fact that “dress code” is very important. When going for an interview it is advised to wear something decent, formal and smart as well. No one wants to hire a casual candidate. It’s a serious job at which you applied right?

Getting Connected Is Important But Getting A Chance Is Vital:

We all know cell phones are status symbol nowadays, plus replying to every call and text message is what we usually love to do but when on interview, it’s not a right time to either answer any call or reply to any SMS. It is advised that you should switch of or at-least put your cell phone on silent. Even putting a phone on vibration is not a good idea as its humming sound can also cause distraction.

You Can Make Your Boyfriend Wait For You For A Lifetime But Not Your Boss

Arriving late for interviews is not good. This is the reason why every HR employee is of the view that a candidate should reach 10 – 15 minutes earlier. It gives a positive impression. It makes a candidate show his seriousness and punctuality, which count in professional environment. Always remember “time is money – don’t waste it” whether this time is yours or your boss’s.

I hope, if these points will be taken into consideration, your chances of getting hired will improve. Share your opinions as well.

“Women” – Sexy – Part 1

(Sufficiently Enchanting, Xtraordinarily Yappy)

Everyone knows that women are the most unpredictable creatures. They can treat you the way they want to. If they know how to treat you like a king they also know how to treat you like rags. So, those individuals who think that they know the psychology of women are completely insane. The interesting thing is that even women don’t know themselves. Some think that they are unpredictable; some believe that they have multiple personalities but the bottom line is that they are confused. How? Well, most of the women know that they want to marry a guy who is good looking, handsome, charming, and loyal and XYZ but when they meet the particular kind of guy they suddenly start thinking of several other qualities that they want in their guy. They would then want value added traits in the guy.
Most of the men think that women have ideals and they want to live in an imaginative world. Well true, they definitely live in an imaginary world that’s why they always don’t believe (in fact they even don’t listen to it) if any one points out their mistakes. To them they can never commit a mistake; it is always a misunderstanding or confusion for them. They act as if they are so naïve, so sweet and so harmless.

According to a woman her ideal man (or going to be husband) should lend a hand if he sees that his wife needs his help, well the reality is, before any man can lend his hand or think about it, his woman clutches his neck with her hands tightly, forgetting that this can offer him a permanent ticket to heaven-land. At that particular moment she thinks (mostly) about herself getting out of the trouble! And what happens to her husband can be explained as his hard/bad luck.

On the other hand there are also women who think that He (hubby dear) should say some words of comfort if he feels that she is complaining of tiredness, weariness or boredom – and if he says anything to comfort her, he gets to listen things like “Can’t you see am tense?”, “Oh please be serious when will you take life seriously?”, “Is it a matter of fun for you?” and “You will never understand me”. What must a guy do in such a situation?

There are also women who think that their Mr. Right should make them feel that they are living with strong, generous, tolerant husbands who will protect them and care for them, one who cares about her and will meet all her legitimate needs whether he is capable or not. After sometime, the trait of “strong man” turns into “insensitivity” , “generosity” turns into “he is a sissy”, “tolerance” turns into the factor that is equivalent to boredom and protectiveness turns into “spying and non-trustworthiness” in the eyes of the women.

The whole scenario turns into a funny situation and a man when tries to do something different to bring spice in his and his wife’s life then ultimate thing happens where she starts to suspect that he is cheating on her!

Women! Are not creatures, but science! Love them, care for them, guide them and support them, but never let them invade your privacy and thoughts! After all if they need space, so do men!

Pakistanis Feel “Honor” in “Honor Killing”

Pakistan is amongst the most talked and discussed countries of the world. There are many reasons behind that. For few, Pakistanis are fundamentalists, extremists, terrorists and for others they are considered as nuclear power, fashion freaks, out-of-box thinkers, cheaters and smart entrepreneurs. But now Pakistanis are also among the “Oscar Winners” thanks to “Sharmeen Obaib Chinoy”. But what does a Pakistani thinks about his own self? What do you think about yourself “as a Pakistani”? Are we good human beings? For how long we will make fun of ABCDs (American born confused desis), and start to realize that we ourselves are PBCM (Pakistani born confused Muslims). The acts that are performed by Pakistanis are neither in accordance with Islam nor as per the laws of humanity – world’s norms. So who are real Pakistanis?

There are many kinds of problems that are faced in Pakistani society. Honor killing is the most severe one amongst them. Are we actually familiarized with honor killing? If not, allow me to highlight few of the important points related to honor killing. Honor killing is basically;
  1. It is an outcome of vengeance. 95% focused on women.
  2. One of the family members (mostly a man), with the consent of other family members, kills and sentences the woman on few basis.
  3. For the whole family this becomes a moment of pride when they sacrifice their own blood because due to her they earned dishonor.
There are many reasons that are considered as the main and basic causes behind the honor killing.
  1. If a girl marries (legally) as per her will – this can be a cause behind honor killing.
  2. If a girl refuses to marry a man selected by her family – even then she is sentenced to death.
  3. Few people also massacre their wives and daughters if they wear objectionable dresses (as per their family’s tastes and definitions)
  4. A woman can also come under the threat of honor killing if she starts to communicate with any of her colleagues, class mates or even distant cousins.
There are many other reasons as well, but these are the most observed ones. Definitely honor killing does not come under Islamic Sharia. So for all those individuals who think that this is something as per Islamic laws and preaching then they must need to clarify their minds and pre-assumed logics.

One thing that I have observed closely and researched about is that, honor killing is not limited to Pakistan only; it is practiced in America, Latin America, Middle East, Canada, India and Europe etc. But Pakistan has the highest rate of honor killings. The basic element behind this is that the individuals in Pakistan are not provided with education, neither religious nor worldly. This is the reason why they feel proud after slaughtering their own kids and sisters. It is a time to create awareness and let everyone educate about both Islam and Humanity that is ethics and rights of every individual.

Let us hope that the new age Pakistanis can take this issue to a level where it will be solved and people will start to accept any woman and man as an individual and not as a commodity. Every year approximately 500 cases are filed against honor killing, whereas countless are unregistered. It is high time to let Pakistani society focus on the crucial topic of honor killing. The cold bloodedness must come to an end! Can Pakistan ever be an “Honor killing” free state? If Yes, then how?

Pakistan's Youth - A false pretense (Part A)

Pakistan is a country that has always suffered from false hopes. Initially by the politicians and bureaucrats but now it is the youth that spreads propagandas at a level which, unfortunately, is not deserved. Well, I personally have no grudges against the youth, I have met few exceptional guys and girls lately but as I mentioned "FEW" not all. Pakistan and its people need to understand that every potential is not a potential that can elevate a character. We need to guide the youth, craft them, provide them with right kind of teachings and preachings instead of letting them do whatever they want to. And it also does not mean that we must force them to do something that either they don't want to do or something in which they cannot excel.

Few of the points that I have noticed in my virtual, professional and teaching career are stated as under; (apart from my personal observations, while traveling in a bus, attending a seminar or party etc)

Our youth never follows the queue
Is it really a big deal to stand in a line? Or is it really difficult to keep a line straight instead of a zigzag one? I have seen in many universities that instead of one proper queue, there are several scattered students forming a queue. This is the behavior of Educated Pakistan and not of those who belong to under or non-privileged groups. If the youth does not have the patience to keep the queue straight how on earth will it be able to straighten up the freaked out life and profession in future? Plus there are few, in fact many, who try to break the queue with either an excuse or attitude (both males and females).

Do they follow Rules?
Hello biker boys! And speedy Gonzales. I am sure every third person belongs to this category, call it anything, for instance, getting late for lecture, class or date the bottom line you speed up and break the signals. Don't you do it? Or haven't you done such things in last 5 days? It takes guts to answer truthfully.

Does your youth respect "Women"?
Today in Pakistan women are doing wonders. Gone were the days when women were not allowed to work or attend universities. These days (talking about the educated class) women are found in majority as compared to men in colleges, universities and offices. Few of the universities and offices have set a clause in their policy that 65% of the staff and students must be women to increase the ratings and standards of the organization and institute (personally witnessed). So in the era of such a womanizing period the youth (including boys and girls) do not pay the deserving regard to the women. Why? Youth is educated, sensible, mature and well groomed as per many think tanks and leaders. So what is the reason behind indecency and cheapness that is mostly witnessed by almost everyone on 14th August, New year eve, Basant or Valentine's Day?

Cars, Mobiles, Gaming lappies and Face book Pedias
Today's youth is surrounded by best gadgets and best available technology, that is the reason why it concentrates more on tangible things like cars, cell phones, lap tops and face book accounts etc rather than focusing on intangible thing things like honesty, character, virtue and success. Are parents and teachers providing too in comparison to what these youngsters actually need and are capable of getting? They prefer to spend hours and hours in front of their PCs (there is no harm in this, provided they do something fruitful and beneficial) just spending their time on Facebook, playing few stupid games there and liking posts and pages. Do you think this in any way will work? They want every luxury in their lives but they do not want to "work their bases off" to achieve them.

I am sure these are few of the traits which must be witnessed by my readers as well, I don’t think, I am the only one who noticed these things!

Soon, I will come up with few more examples to discuss them with you.

Take cares!

And TAMANNA BEGUM Dies after Spreading Smiles for Decades – What She Left for me are few Questions

There was a time when Pakistani Film Industry and not “Lollywood” was at its peak. People used to watch Pakistani movies all around the world. We had collaborations with Nepal, Bangladesh, Bangkok, China and India etc. Movies used to celebrate Silver, Golden and Platinum Jubilees. Cinemas used to be studded with audiences. In those days, there lived a performer, who was as innocent as a child in all her comic roles and who also had the potential to look cruel and unkind when she used to bag a vamp’s role. Tamanna Begum (late) had one of the strangest personalities that one can find in film industry; incorruptibility and mischievous sprite both at the same time were find in her. And she won her audience in both undoubtedly.

She started her career with Radio Pakistan then in mid-60’s she started theatre and later introduced to Pakistani Film Industry. The woman who performed and competed neck to neck and shoulder to shoulder, with one of the finest comedians of Pakistan ever produced LEHRI along with Rangeela and Munawwar Zareef. On the contrary when she was cast against Agha Talish, Adeeb and Alauddin who were and still are considered as volcano of high voltage dramatic scenes, she stood out with her bravura performance and impressed the audience. She acted with legends of Pakistani film stars like Muhammad Ali, Waheed Murad, Nadeem, Mustafa Qureshi and Shahid etc. and earned the title of legend herself.

She earned a lot of appreciation in comic roles, but I personally prefer her bitter roles as well – it used to take an instantaneous moment to abhor her, with those performances as she fits to the character just like a latex-glove in hand. I suppose this is the quality of a true performer. After the downfall of Pakistan’s film industry, or better put it as, after the transition of Pakistani Film Industry to “Lollywood” she adieu film industry and started to focus on TV dramas. From 1960 to 2012 the legend kept proving herself a true performer no matter what kind of roles she was bagged with. Her journey from Multan to Karachi and from 1960 – 2012 definitely had ups and downs – and only a strong headed and powerful woman like her could manage to travel on such path with consistency and élan.

As per the sources, prior to her demise, she was working for “Bubban House” (An Ever New Production). So, its not just Raj Kapoor or Moin Akhter who believed on the motto “The Show Must Go On” – Tamanna was in the same league of performers too. She was under treatment for 9+ months but government of Pakistan did not bother to take care of her, medically. Not even “Lollywood” cared to provide her any assistance and support. Is it not a shameful thing for a nation? Pakistan’s nation is not equal to few handfuls of individuals who have tenderness for others. To me Tamanna Begum left few questions, after spending a life full of success, pride and serving as a national artist (a national asset).

Questions include;

  1. What is the use for working for your nation? At the end of the day every one’s life is busy and don’t have time for others.
  2. What is the use of being patriotic? As patriotism does not provide treatment to an ailing patriotic. Money does.
  3. Why do we teach live for others and care for others? Show me huge list of examples and not Cheepa, Edhi and such few others.
  4. Do we have to wait for another Tamanna Begum to wake up?
  5. Lets stop waiting for natural losses or unavoidable disasters to unite as a nation. Try to become a good individual on daily basis and find those people who are suffering from illnesses – of any kind.
Few Facts;

  1. She spent 350,000/- PKR for treatment. Only for 9 days. She was admitted in Tabba Heart Hospital, Karachi.
  2. She was then taken to SIUT, where she had free of cost treatment. I wish we have more of SUCH organizations.
  3. How would a poor individual afford any treatment?
I wish Tamanna Begum’s soul rest in peace and may Almighty grant her mercy. Enough said!

In Pakistan Controversies Remain The Same – From Anita Ayub (1990) To Mathira (2012)

Pakistan has emerged greatly in terms of media expansion. Once there was only PTV with a limited availability of STN / NTN. Then with millennium Pakistan emerged with many different TV channels. The things and content which were considered as taboo and non-discussable are now accepted in every house and the fun part is families are now found debating on those topics, much openly. The “Never” of yesteryear is a “Must” of today. Definitely media has developed a lot. On the contrary even audience has gained a lot of awareness. The audience simply knows what to “watch” and what to “must watch”.

Controversies are not new in the field of media, be it black and white era, fuji color or east man color – we have seen a lot of controversies including reputed and respected names of today, which were once not even worthy of being discussed. So does it mean with the passage of time intensity and severity of wrongness decreases?

Recently we have seen Veena Malik posing, topless for a foreign magazine (I ask my readers, “Was it her first such shoot? Then why did people exaggerated big time?”). And now we are hearing about Mathira (A VJ), who also posed topless for a dietary magazine which was issued on Valentine’s Day. From few sources Mathira is also known as “Paris Hilton” of Pakistan – Wow that’s a great improvement. After all Pakistan got another Paris besides Karachi. Well this is not a new thing guys. Have you forgotten about the woman who used to call herself Brooke Shields of Pakistan, back in early 90’s? I am definitely talking about Anita Ayub, the first Pakistani woman who wanted to participate in Miss World back in 1993 and the Mullas stopped her by not letting her leave her house and protesting outside her home. Though the celebrity could not participate in the Miss World’s Competition but later she got starred in an Indian movie “Pyar Ka Tarana” directed by every green Dev Anand. The movie was initially banned in Pakistan as it had some “more than usual” exposing which was hard to digest in those days, by Indians as well as Pakistanis.

Anyways, the bottom line is, be it Anita Ayub, Veena Malik or Mathira – they all have happened to be controversial queens. But guys do you really think it matters to them? They are celebrities and associated with media. I don’t get the difference between a woman wearing a see through white dress and dancing under the rain in a Lollywood film, and a woman covering her chest with hands and posing for a shoot. After all it is what they do to earn money, it is their profession. And the fact is people buy and like such stuff – Don’t they?
If people think that Pakistanis must not do such shoots, so tell me what is the reason of such thinking? Islam or Muslim factor? Hell No. Islam never allows movies or TV dramas. Or it does? Secondly its their life, why would they be concerned about others’ opinions. It’s a free economy, a free society and hence they have a free life style. No one stops a traffic constable to ask for bribery, but if any public figure makes any questionable move, every one points fingers on them – what a double standard!

Its time to grow mature and start accepting that Islam and Pakistan; are two different things. Similarly every celebrity needs controversy just like TV channels need TRPs. Believe it and keep your life simple!

Bathroom Beauties - A facebook Ideology

“Heya Facebook freaks!” I am sure there must be millions who would reply to my “Hi” not because they know me or like me, but for the sake of keeping themselves in the FACEBOOK FRATERNITY. Lately I observed few things which I mostly used to see almost every day or every alternate day. It is nothing unusual (for many) but really UN-USUAL (for some). Have you ever thought why women mostly rush to washrooms when meeting their fiends, families and the special ones {yup “retards” for their (girl’s) charms – The spelled guys)}. NO! I don’t want you to think on those personal concerns. These days every woman or allow me to say girls, as few might mind me calling them women, have cameras or at least a nicer phones preferably iPhone in their bags. This helps them a lot to look good, fresh and more over click pictures – after all where else will they get the privacy to do few crazy stunts, without other noticing them in awe. Apart from all the motives, from where they get their new and much liked Display Pictures to upload at Facebook?

The funniest part is, after uploading those pictures, their friends ask them from where they got the picture, most of the comments are like “the backdrop is just so amazing” – it is not over yet! Punch line is – after getting to know the location of the luxurious toilet, most try to visit there and get their shots as well. Guys this is not a joke, trust me there are many fanatics doing such things, just because they can show their pictures to their friends by standing in the washroom in front of large mirrors. The disease has now shifted from ONE PERSON SHOT to TWOSOMES, THREESOMES and even GANG of Power Puffed Ones clicking numerous shots. Be it wedding, party, coffee shop, restaurant or any other place where they can find a lavish wash-room, they can’t just keep their hands off their cameras.

Is it something like Girls Only Look Great In Washroom? Not even On their Big Day?

For all those girls who usually comment in utter superiority that they have “high Standards” it is a wakeup call – Girls with high standards never indulge themselves in something like that! Give it a thought!

I completely don’t have anything against girls or their pictures, but I know one thing, if the same thing is done by a guy he will instantly become CHEAP and WEIRDO in the eyes of those girls.

Be blessed!

Keep smiling – and doing things by which other can smile as well.

Breast Cancer Support – Keep the Spirits High

I just wonder; is it really difficult to take out sometime from our busy schedules and try to listen to people who do not have any one to talk to?

Well I am writing this because a dear friend of mine wanted me to wear “Pink colored Tie” to support “Breast Cancer Day” – I simply admire her for drawing my attention towards this point. Thanks Barbie!

I then went through different web-sites on Breast Cancer – but I found this Particular One really helpful. I have a suggestion for many young guys and girls like me, to spend few minutes a week with someone who is suffering from this severe illness or even any other illness. It will have many positive after effects on you, for instance;

Ø  You will definitely realize how blessed you are – to be healthy and fit.
Ø  You will get the inner satisfaction that someone is really there, who waits for your visit every week/month on any particular day. This is an amazing feeling (try it out to experience it)
Ø  The happiness which you will cause to the person can only be seen in the teary eyes (tears of happiness) but can never be expressed in words by him or her.
Ø  The contentment level will be high. Why? You will be aware of one thing that you are making a difference in someone’s life, by brightening up his or her day.

It is definitely not difficult. All that is required is courage to say “Hello How are you feeling today?” and then the conversation will take its own pace.

Wearing pink ribbon is definitely good – but spending a few minutes with a patient will be better. This habit will definitely make you realize numerous things which you might have never thought about.

You might come across a Top-Notch Banker Excelling in her field, four years ago, but now if you will meet her you can sense the difference in her life – Don’t let this DIFFERENCE spread more.

I am not sure whether I have fully conveyed my message / feeling or not! But all I know is that! My friends and readers are far sensitive and intelligent than me.

Bless you all!!

Keep Smiling and try to be the reason of other’s smiles.
